Area Manager / External Sales Representative / JOHANNESBURG REGION

Applications are invited from qualified applicants for the above position based at Hychem in Johannesburg.The successful applicant will be based in Johannesburg and will be required to service customers and assist in growth of the business in his/her area. Experience in a Technical position is preferred but not essential. Experience in Hotel Operations and Industrial applications would be advantageous. The successful applicant should also be fluent in English and Afrikaans. The applicant will work closely with the current service teams assisting that area.  The applicant will report directly to the Business Relationship Manager and have occasionally to report on items if requested to the Hychem Board of Directors.

Duties will include:

  • New business growth in all industries that Hychem services.
  • Day to day client visits / training / meetings with operational directors of businesses and hotel groups and or General Managers of Hotel properties and Client business Owners.
  • Day to day interaction with various department heads at clients, compiling quotations and preforming product demonstrations.
  • Day to day inspections of all areas including kitchens, housekeeping and other client areas.
  • Compilation of comprehensive quotations that could have a direct impact on National business.
  • Completion of required company standard paperwork as per our ISO manual.
  • Call outs as per company policy, attended within 24 hours. Including weekends depending on the nature of the call out, or training required at odd hour shifts.
  • Delivery / collection of product or equipment when required.
  • Adhoc duties as required by the company

Successful applicants must, and where required, submit documentation indicated with **:

  • **have existing sales experience of a minimum of 3 years, and proof of traceable new business achievements.
  • **have proven one’s self in excelling at sales vs budget history.
  • have an above average knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams.
  • have excellent communication skills for personal interaction at high negotiating levels.
  • have the ability to speak confidently in public.
  • have good administration skills and be trustingly independent.
  • have a valid driver license
  • have own reliable vehicle not older than 6 years. No company vehicle will be offered.
  • be willing to work extended hours.
  • be willing to travel and sleep out when required.
  • be presentable and fluent in English and Afrikaans.

The company undertakes to train the applicant in all aspects of the position other than the above required. Further the company undertakes to train the applicant in product knowledge where necessary to attain the required standard of knowledge demanded by this position.

This position is a high profile, high responsibility position and remuneration payable is market related.

Remuneration package details

Market related Salary range, Sales commissions payable one month in arrears, Travel allowance, Company Cellular Telephone, Business Fuel, Medical aid allowance and Provident Fund contribution once permanently employed.
